Specific heat is the ratio (per unit mass) of heat input to temperature rise. When a gas is maintained at a constant pressure it shows a greater specific heat (cp ) than when it is maintained at constant volume (ce ). In both cases, the gas is enclosed by a wall which allows heat transfer. Find those items on the RESPONSE ARRAY which describe fully the situ ation in which the specific heat at constant pressure is measured. Included in this set of items will he those which explain why cp > cv .
